A July Morning

Painted on location by the Harkness Mansion in Waterford, CT., named "Eolia" for the island home of the Greek god of winds. On this breezy July morning the wild flower grasses tossed about, alit with red-winged blackbirds, as other shoreline birds busied themselves in the distant salt marsh near the Long Island Sound.

"Morning on Monhegan"

This painting was done early in the morning onsite on Monhegan Island in Maine. Monhegan is an artist colony and a quaint fishing village that is of a bygone era. Most of the rentals have no electricity and there are very few cars on the island.

Fanore Beach

This is a great beach to stroll along in Co. Clare, Ireland, the dunes are absolutely amazing and mountains of Galway line the horizon to the north. Although the waters are too rough for a swim, you do see the occassional surfer.

A Winters Walk

I just painted this scene from the woods in the back of my house on a warmer day of the first snow. I enjoyed the subtle beauty of the "grey day" colors and the sagging branches of the hemlocks.
