Flying In

This painting is about a beautiful day in Florida. There are two egrets. One is flying in to be with another egret. and also a couple of birds are flying near the edge of the lake. The blue sky has white puffy clouds that are called cumulous clouds, and all is reflected in the water of the lake. There are trees in the background, and cattails growing along the edge of the lake, and other low growing kinds of plants and bushes.

A watercolor on 140 lb paper about the end of day when the sunlight is just beginning to descend below the horizon. There are leafless wintry trees and grasses in the foreground, and semi-circling into the background of the painting on either side of the foreground trees. Through the trees and above is a pale golden glow in the sky. There are birds coming into roost for the night. At the foot of the trees is a body of rippling water. The colors in the water reflects the golden tone of the sky and mauve in the ripples. Note: The colors are slightly more intense than how they are shown here, but was impossible to get the correct coloration of the piece.
