Roses on Grandma's Quilt

Watercolor on Arches paper, roses on quilt, subdued colors. Grandma's quilts are old and frayed, but I display them in my bedroom. I bought some roses and began a series utilizing roses and quilts and other objects she left to me. This painting won 3rd place in watermedia in a regional show.

Casein on watercolor board, lace, pears and coffee pot, vertical format. The setup was an old coffee pot that my husband found for me; the pear plate, cup and saucer are from my "good" dish set; and the tablecloth was hand crocheted by my grandmother, probably in the 1920's!
