Sea Shell Surf Wave

A wave of ocean water that crashes upon the shore bringing small and large sea shell of many kinds up to the sandy beaches. Created from two textured turqoise glasses that have a rainbow opalescence in a wave of large, medium and small shards that twists opposite a gathering of five larger seashells that spin within silver sea circles and are held by curved arms that have small shards of glass and tiny shells dangling in the movement.

Goldworthys Red Splash Swimming Walden Waves

Taken from direct influences of both the writing of Henry David Thoreau and the natural art of Andrew Goldsworthy. Thoreau discribes the colors of Wladen pond to be the blues of the reflections of the sky, and the light greens of the shore "which gradually deepens to a uniform dark green in the body of the pond." In his Rivers and Tides documentary Andy Goldworthy creates impromptu moments of art. He crushes small red rocks into a mound of fine powder that he mixes with water from a stream to create a ball of red iron oxide clay. With a gentle motion he tosses the ball into a still section of the stream and with a splash of red violence the color clouds it's way down the slow current. With the colors of glass and the motion of a mobile it was this action that I tried to recreate.

Fire Dragon

A sinuous form in flight wreathed in the bright colors of a hot flickering flame. The Flame Dragon was inspired from many asian dragon influences with a serpentian form a delicate wing structure a sharp face and pointy snout. It is made up of a series of broken vessel shards that contain much of the blended fire colors and clouded stained glass that was poured with gold dust giving the red, orange and yellow glass shards an amazing brilliant color.

Louis' Lost Message

The inevitable outcome of purposeful pollution - a message in a bottle. But this time the sea had enough shattering the bottle and lossing the message forever. Created from a single shattled wine bottle bits of sea glass and packing popcorn this mobile has many different scopes of movement. From the silent slow twist of the bottle to the spinning sea circles and the fleeting bits of popcorn sea bubbles dancing around.
