I am still working on two paintings. I have a large canvas that is 36 × 48. I have been working on it since march and most of the background is done and I am finally ready to begin working on the Main subject of the paintng. The other one is coming along slow. I hope to have it done in time for the arts fest in Beverly in June. I have also entered the artists magazine competition. It doesn't matter if I win or lose. Any feedback would be helpful and someone might see it and it could open up new possibilities. The hardest part is not comparing my work to other artists work and learning to accept my style for what it is. Unique to me. If I want to change anything about my work I first have to change how I see things. It can difficult just starting out without any contacts or name recognition wondering if I can be succesful. The day I sell my first painting will be a day of celebration for me. On another note I am going to start another painting soon. This one will be for me and not for sale. Some of the personal development work I have done talks of visualizing yourself of how you want to be so I am going to paint a self portrait not of who I am but of who I want to be. It will have a bit of the fantastic or fantasy element to it. But it will symbolize an internal representation of who and what I am to be. I have no idea how i'm going to pull this one off, but I enjoy a challenge.
