Michael Savageau Art Blog
The artsfest in downtown Beverly was yesterday. It was the first public showing of my artwork. It was a perfect day for it. Sunny in the mid seventies with a gentle sea breeze, they closed off Main street so all the artists could set up their booths on the street. There were a hundred to a hundred fifty of us there. I didn't sell any art, but it was well recieved, a lot of the other artists said it was slow as compared to past artsfests. The state of the economy may be putting a damper on spending. I consider it a success though. I made a contact or two and also was able to judge what paintings people seemed most interested in. I have been considering having Giclee's made so I can offer images of my work at a lower price, without short changing myself on the originals. Swimmer and Sage got the most interest followed by Subconscious Explosion. It also will help me focus on which paintings to work on next. I have so many ideas in all those catagories. It has helped to energize the creative process within me.
