Therese R. Blood About
Born and raised in New England, Therese began her formal art study at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She pursued further instruction in still life and oil painting at the Sharon Arts Center under the direction of Sidney Willis. Therese later studied portraiture with Richard Whitney.
Her watercolor technique is self-taught and her florals give particular emphasis to the natural color and detail found in their authentic botanical settings.
Whether painting in oil, watercolor or pastel Therese prefers a realistic style with a clean use of color. She uses her artwork to creatively capture the familiar themes and scenes of everyday life. Her paintings are influenced by the light, fresh perspective and charm of places once visited.
Her paintings have been displayed in several galleries in New England and are part of private collections throughout the United States and Great Britain.
