Biography

I was born and raised in New York City, N.Y. Both my parents were artistically inclined. I attended Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. where I received a B. A. in Fine Arts in 1965. I continued my studies there and received an M. A. in Humanities. While studying there, I was both Undergraduate and then Graduate Assistant in the Sculpture Department. In 1965, I was chosen to teach a Hofstra sponsored class in Sculpture for talented High School students. The class was held on Saturday morning at Hofstra and I continued teaching it until 1974.

In the years following my graduation I exhibited at the following places.

1967-1968 - I was given multiple commissions by the Windows Display Group at Bloomingdales Department store in Manhattan, N.Y.C., N.Y. I executed 4 ______________"New Yorker Magazine__________________ style dandies for their ______________" New York, New York__________________ themed windows. Due to the positive comments on those works, I was invited to exhibit 6 of my sculptures in their ______________"Fall themed__________________ windows. Included in the exhibition, an additional 4 of my sculptures were placed on consignment in their furniture department. One of which was sold.

1969 - I had a One Man Show at the Avanti Gallery, New York, N. Y. One on my pieces, ______________"Aicram__________________, was taken on permanent collection with Fordham University, N.Y.

1970 - I had a One Man Show at the Firehouse Gallery at Nassau Community College, L.I., N.Y.

1970- Commissioned to create an outdoor sculpture for Dr. and Mrs. A. Kaplan, L.I., N.Y.

1971- Commissioned to create a Corten Steel Sculpture/Mailbox

for D. Hansen, Architect, L.I., N.Y.

1974- Artist in Residence at Shoreham Middle School, Shoreham, N.Y.

1974- My wife and I moved to Salt Lake City. I started working as a Tool and Diemaker. I was hired by Salt Lake Community College to teach Welding and Machine Shop for Project Cooperation, an after school program for ______________"at risk__________________ High School Students. I continued there until 1978, when the Federal Funding was lost.

1975 to 1999- My wife, Miki, opened and operated her Ballet School, Casalino School of Creative Arts. I assisted in all aspects of designing and creating the stage sets for all her Spring Programs.

1978 to 2008 - I was hired as a Plastic Injection Moldmaker by Sorenson Research, which was bought out by Abbott Laboratories, then Hospira and finally I.C.U. Medical.

August, 2008- I retired and went back to creating Welded Steel Sculptures.

2008, September- Created website- theforgeslc.com

2008, November- Exhibitor at the Jewish Community Center__________________s Art Fair, S.L.C., Utah. Sold three pieces including the ______________"Menorah__________________ that I created for that show.

2009- March 27th _________________" Exhibitor at Ensign Elementary ______________"Talent and Art Gallery Walk__________________ , S.L.C., Utah

April 1st- March 31st, 2010- 11th Annual Judeo-Christian International Juried Online Art Exhibition, Omaha, Nebraska. Three works will be shown online for one year.

June 25th- July 21st. _________________" Pagosa Springs Juried Art Exhibition, Pagosa Springs, CO. ____________...___Wicked in Red_______________ was accepted into show.

Aug. 1st _________________" July 31, 2010- Upstream People Gallery, 8th Annual Summer All Media Online International Art Exhibit- 5 pieces accepted
