Tal Dvir About
Tal Dvir, born 1967, resident of southern California, establishing his career painting impressionism to realism in contemporary style, connecting himself to the NOVOREALISM group, also known as the Alla Prima painters which urges the classic approach of studying from life. Deeply inspired by his childhood memories, recalling his grandfather artist Joseph Gusdin (1899 - 1980 ) paints and how framed canvases covering wall to wall the old house by the big oak trees. Seeking for own style and looking to stay true to His painting passion, Tal is striving to paint anything he feels inspired with... Emphasize on perfection (pre-paint studies) impresses the viewer through deep contrasts. The right light and shade creates the illusion of reality through smooth to random and almost abstract brush strokes. Tal showed in several group exhibitions in Israel as well as in California. Tal exhibited a natural talent for art by the age of 3 when his mother began supporting him to develop his talent. At 16, he was admitted to the prestigious Witzo Art School in Tel Aviv, Israel, where he discovered the technical skill-sets necessary to compliment his natural abilities, practiced under professor Rosen, famed for his anatomical drawings and realistic compositions. Inspired by the great local landscapes, Tal incorporated the views' details in his impressionist style that was influenced mainly by the great masters: Velasquez, El Greco, Degas, Pissaro and also by American masters artists such as Sargent, William Wendet, Cecilia Beaux and now days masters such Richard Schmid and Clayton J. Beck.
Currently concentrating on a series of figures, portraits and still life, Tal continues to follow his favorite style -contemporary realism. Tal Dvir's paintings express figures and still life in every day's life scenes as well as pre-directed poses. As an artist who knows his way through his art, Tal had accomplished finding his painting style that he sought through his entire art career. He lives and creates in Irvine California. Recently opened his own art school and studio, successfully teaching young to adult students at all levels, visited by local art lovers all the way to folks from the east coast. Located conveniently in Tustin, Tal Dvir Fine Art Classes offers real fine art education using academic approaches by conducting small group classes, workshops, private classes and free form painting nights.
I mostly use oil paints, though recently, I've started to test the Artisan oil colors which are water mixable. I'm also spending a lot of time on pencil drawings which in my believe as an artist, is the essence of painting, a good painting starts with a good drawing.
I had the privilege to have such a supportive parents that let me decide to do what I like the most as a child. Today, I'm doing what I love to do more then anything else, to paint. My goals as an artist, are to always be in a process of constantly improvement of my painting style and techniques while sharing my art in art galleries and museums over the US and around the global as well.
