Jackie Griswold Art Blog
This is the second of the three paintings I've submitted to Gallery 137 in Indian Orchard, MA for the First Annual Members Juried Show. The opening reception for the show is Saturday, July 26, 2008 from 1-3 p.m.
The photo doesn't really do it justice. The colors are various reds, deep garnet, and pinks and fits in with the Abstract Expressionist style work I've been doing. It's another mixed media acrylic painting, with a underlayer of tissue paper. This one also has tiny seed beads scattered in little groupings on the surface, which pulls in the bead work I've been doing for nearly 20 years. I also added some glitter glue in several areas to add highlights, and there are even a few pieces of string glued on for a little more texture.
Thank you for reading my blog.
