Robert Selby About
Robert Selby earned an Associate of Arts in Business Administration from Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, a four year Certificate in Graphic Design from the Portland Museum Art School,a Bachelor of Science in Arts & Letters/Graphic Design at Portland State University and a Master of Fine Arts in Advertising Design at Syracuse University. He has extensive experience in the communications industry as a Designer and Art Director. He also served as an Associate Professor and Chair of the Design Arts Department at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland.
Robert has exhibited his work at Bullseye in Portland, Oregon;
DonTerra Gallery in Sisters, Oregon;
Gallery K and the Enid Joy Mount Gallery in Keizer, Oregon; the Camas Gallery in Salem, Oregon.
Robert is a member of the Glass Arts Society and the ArtFire Glass Community. Currently he is President of the Keizer Art Association in Keizer, Oregon.
Robert has taken classes and workshops at Bullseye in Portland, most notably with Narcissus Quagliata. He has also studied kiln casting with Linda Ethier. Robert is an innovator in the area
of fused glass. One of the results of Robert__™s accumulated experience is that the interplay of design in nature has become a primary area of focus. Besides the visual aspects of creating interesting and successful artwork, Robert finds the use of symbology, typography, sacred geometry and
photography particularly compelling.
Robert currently lives and finds inspiration for his work on Rickreall Ridge just west of Dallas, Oregon.
