Night and the North Wind
Second in the series of seasonal images from the Connecticut River Valley. The kimono is composed of Japanese rice papers, hand decorated papers, original wood engraving and lots of embroidery floss. Each section is joined by hand embroidery with a sashiko pattern added to the overall design. These "little stitches" serve to suggest the wind that blows through the valley during the long winters. The kimono is framed in black with grey double mat.
