A Heart with Many Homes
A quilted paper commission, composed of original paste papers, exhibition postcards, decorative rice papers, calendars, and embroidery. The piece needed to suggest a career spent on a college campus in New Jersey as well as years spent in Africa. I researched the different countries involved and developed patterns and embroidery that reflected the culture that was indigenous to each area of the continent.
