Sandee Smith About
I first was interested in the arts as a child. I started drawing what I saw around me at the age of 2 years. I started taking a drawing class at the age of 12, where another student was painting and I became intrigued. I started learning how to paint in oils then. I was in a local art show that same year showing 3 paintings I had done.
I took a few art classes in high school, and took a lot more in college. I have been in a few of the local college's art shows and we have a local "Arthop" every three months, that I participate in.
My philosophy towards my art is mainly to let my imagination go and come up with images that are vibrant in color and beautiful to the eye. It is a physical imperative for me to create. I could not live and not create, it has become a part of me.
My influences are: Boris Vallejo, Luis Royo, Olivia, Frank Frazetta and many others. Comic and Graphic novel cover art is also a big influence, as is the world of tattoo art.
