Rory Clarke About
I am a young up and coming Irish artist. I am completely self taught.
Painting started at a young age for me. My mother had a lot to do with that. She saw talent somewhere along the line, and would enter me into Community Games Art competitions. This competition was a national competition in Ireland. Each entrant would have to do a drawing or painting in a room full of other entrants in under three hours. The pressure was massive. Especially when you were 12 years old.
I remember looking up during the competition and seeing all the other mothers looking in the windows at their children. It was debatable who was more into it, the kids or the mothers ?
Anyway, I managed to win two gold medals at National level at 12 and 16 years of age. Looking back on it now, I believes those days were very beneficial to my development as an artist today. Since then I has continued to paint from a number of different subject, including landscape, seascape, portraits, wildlife and cartoons.
I work from a vast range of subject matter and styles. I believes this is what makes art so interesting and I see every painting as a fresh approach.
If you don't see something you like in my shop, and have something you would like done. I will happily do commisions. Get in touch ! :) firstname.lastname@example.org
