Botanic garden of Uppsala revisited

It was a perfectly sunny day, and I stod at the terrace in the garden of the castle of Uppsala looking down on at the Botanic garden. I painted this picture while interested tourists came up to look while I was working. Among other, there was a busload of African people among who one asked me if I was a student. I said, yes, because I am learning all the time. It took me one and a half hour to paint. Unfortunately, when I was done, and as the wind was coming on strong, the easel turned over just as I had removed the painting from it. The painting remained undamaged though, but I got a load of Ultramarine on my cellphone.

I agree with Carolyn, that glimpse into the process and circumstances of a painting is so interesting. That is exactly what people want to know and makes for a great blog.

I just wanted to let you know I enjoy reading your blog posts. I like the way you give a brief account of a moment in the life of the painter and the painting. Caroline
