Snow in Stowe

I'm just back from my annual week at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, where I ski cross-country and paint. I have just put up a new gallery with work from my week. I have a gallery in Stowe, one of my most productive, so I end up leaving most of what I produce behind. It is Vermont Fine Arts, owned and managed by Elizabeth Prior.

Elizabeth loves to tell her clients how I come in from the cold, hair all awry, having painted out in the Vermont winter. I have painted in temperatures as low as zero degree farenheit; this year it was down to 10 on one morning. I got my picture taken by a photographer for the Stowe Reporter and ended up on the front page, always nice for business!

Wow! And here I get fussy if it dips below 60 degrees out in my studio. In fact, I usually fire up the space heater for an hour or so before I even go out there. I can't imagine painting in weather that cold! More power to you though, I commend your commitment to working on site and not from photographs. Do those extreme temps. effect your paints?
