Nothing to Wear
Haven't we all said it, ladies? "I have nothing to wear!" Here's a collage that reminds us in several ways that we need to reflect on that plaint. A complex statement, this collage is composed of fringed clothing labels surrounding a fashion cut-out. The cut is lined with bright copper and is backed by a mirror, which allows the viewer to see a self-reflection. Superimposed on the mirror is a depression-era photo of a naked child. Taken together, one is left with a healthy response to both materialism and poverty. 16" x 20" with dark blue mat in a gold frame.
