Kevin Varty About

Basically, I paint what I find interesting or I'd like to see hanging on my walls. I think a lot of artists are that way. 36 comments

Kevin became interested in art at an early age. Inspired by his dad's art, at age 5 he started by drawing the eagle that was tatooed on his Uncle Waynes arm, from there he started the paint by numbers with his mom, and at age 11 he attended his first college art class at New Mexico State University. Several years passed and he started attending Barstow Jr. College where he studied under James Savoie ( The BEST Artist this side of the Pecos ) and Ruben Apodaca ( creator of Alvin and the Chipmuncks ). From there he attended L.A. Trade Tech and studied under Mario Rueda for Foster & Klieser. He's been a sign painter,an artist for Boeing, and was an artist for Southern California Edison for 9 years. He has won many juried events ,and best of show on several occasions. His art hangs in several celebrities homes, and in private collections all over the U.S. and Canada. He lives in Barstow , a Railroad town in the desert of Southern California on Rt.66, and currentley works for Union Pacific.
