Bright Flame of Winter
This is the first of the four seasons series, Bright Flame Of Winter is painted on a porcelain plate and fired six times between layers this piece is not quit finished yet as the raised past still needs to be added, this is used to enhance the white and give the snow some definition. the paint used is china over glaze powder that is ground very fine and mixed with oil to a tooth past like thickness . the brushes need to be well oiled and then pressed out to get rid of the access oil in the brush to much oil and your paints could run when firing. just a very small amount of paint is needed to much and the paint could pop off . love the beauty of the cardinal's bright red feathered plumage, you are so lucky to have that bright flame of winter in your country, sadly we do not see them in Europe but we do have our red breasted cheeky Robins, much smaller then their north American counter parts. please be sure to view the high quality enlargement, Hope you enjoy viewing Bright Flame Of Winter as I've had painting him. thank you for viewing. :-) nighthawk
