Under the Sea

Mixed media of acrylic inks, watercolor and pastel. This piece is done on "hot press" watercolor paper. Each month there are themes chosen from a group artists site. This month's free theme was Under the Sea. Having started this piece with acrylic inks several months ago; it's been sitting there waiting to be developed. Knew could see clearly a fish hidden in the coral. As the announcement came pulled this out and felt more confident in proceeding with the composition. Textures suggested coral and seaweed floating beneath the surface. Use of pen and ink stems from the last workshop attended with Gerald Brommer as instructor at the Kanuga Conference 2010.
