Lets have fun with watercolor--This painting was done with a lot of different materials--but mostly saran wrap. I just played around with it all and guess what I got? A painting that I liked a lot. I have had many complements on it too. Its really an abstract design. I used arches paper and watercolor with saran wrap, a little salt and casine. I wish you would try this technique and enjoy!

I do a watercolor project with my high school students where we work in the style of Georia O'Keefe and they draw from vases of flowers. Prior to beginning the painting I have them complete a series of 13 different watercolor experiements. Plastic wrap is always one of the most popular. It is a very low matainence technique with high yield results. Some others that are a lot of fun are dripping rubbing alcohol into a wet wash, or using coarse sea salt or kosher salt.
