When you find yourself in a RUT-what to do??

Well fellow artists, I would like some comments from you--here's my problem----For the last month I have worked on a lot of paintings, some that I started a long time ago and some that I did recently. Now here's my problem----nothing I do seems to be anything to write home about. I am feeling that all I do--well, it is not very good. I used to work in oil, and I was happy with my work--this is one of the paintings i did in oil a few years ago. I am an artists that likes to do different things. I have tried so many kinds of medias and do a few that I like, I work in acrylics a lot--but tire of them. So I go back to my watercolor and etc. I guess I am in a RUT. Just thought I would tell you that being an artist is not easy at times. Of course, sometimes your life gets a little confusing with everyday things. Perhaps, my time is limited also. I really have an easy life now, It is a different life these last 3 years. I got married to a wonderful man,and moved to his house. My first husband died 10 years ago and it has been a big adjustment. I had to change my painting habits and have less time to paint. Guess I am sorta pouring my heart out as an artist. Maybe there are others that have this same problem of being in a RUT. Any suggestions for me??? I would appreciate some. Millie

You do very well, Millie. I always enjoy your work. Like this piece, there is just something about it that I like. Maybe you feel like you are in a rut, but it must be a good rut because I like what you do. Keep up the good work and have fun, and don't worry. Mary.
