Acoma Angles
Acoma Indians, an indigenous tribe from Albuquerque, New Mexico have been designing and making intricate, dramatic pots since the early 18th century. The Acoma artists of today strive to capture and create the same patterns and designs as their ancestors in the making of their comtemporary pottery, glass and bronze sculptures. While visiting New Mexico I studied these beautiful patterns and symbols and was inspired to paint them into an abstract format and presentation. This piece is finished in an ivory, acid-free mat.
