Leandra is an artist and pharmacist native to the Orlando FL area. Art has long-time been a part of her life, since early childhood -- much inspired by her older sister, Candice. Leandra has received numerous awards and recognition for her artwork. Probably the most memorable, her first award and recognition attained at a very early age; in grade school, Leandra received first place honorarium and display of her artwork in the Peabody of Orlando.
In her teen years, she coined a unique name, a name in which people would come to know her by. Lateeky, an identifier of Leandra to many. Leandra went on to experiment with a variety of medium including ink, charcoal, pencil, pastel, watercolor, oil, wax and clay. To mention a few, Leandra created pottery, oil on canvas paintings, and collage work. Leandra was also commisioned as a mural artist for a model home company.
Education and career later took away much of Leandra__™s time for art as she focused on learning applied sciences and pharmaceutics. Leandra received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Florida. After successfully attaining her degree and completing residency training, she was able to find that work-life balance and thus incorporated art back into her free time.
Shortly after, Leandra relocated to Portland OR where art is an integral part of the city and community. She continues her career as a clinical pharmacist and freelance artist. Working mostly in oil, Leandra__™s current focus is pug dog portraits. Having cared for a pug, she understands the true love and companionship of a pet and especially that of a pug.
If these paintings have a mission, it is this: create personalized paintings that are not only colorful but bold and expressive. Above all, Leandra strives to create paintings that have emotional and sentimental value to a pug owner.
Currently working with oil on canvas.
