On April 15th I had the great honor of receiving the news that the Societe Academique D__™education et D__™encoragement fondee en 1915 Paris France will be awarding me the Diplome De Medaille de Bronze in Art. The presentation will be held at the Hotel Intercontinental in Paris on May 21, 2011. My friend Peter Bloch who was the United States representative for the French Academy Arts-Sciences-Lettres started the process back in 2008 just before he passed away. I continued the quest and had the great honor of becoming a Member of Arts-Sciences-Lettres in September of 2010. A few months later I sent a very large portfolio and application to the Superior Commission in hopes that I would be awarded a Diplome De Medaille. My greatest wish came true when I received the fantastic news this past Friday. My wife Orsola was 1st to know the news as she was right by me when I opened the letter. Soon after I called two fellow members of the French Academy Arts-Sciences-Lettres who are my Mentors and Friends. Elelis Pena (Politician) in the Dominican Republic and Arturo Alvarez (President Society of Poets, Writers & Artists) in America. Without there help and guidance I would not be here writing about this great honor awarded to me. Next I called my parents who have always encouraged me to seek out my dreams and then I tried to call or e-mail as many friends as possible. The best thing about winning an important award is the friends that you are able to share it with. I am blessed with many great friends and mentors, they are my guardian angels here on earth and for that I thank God everyday. I would not change my life for anyone else on earth as I have been blessed with the best of everything. I have a great job and work with people whom I consider like family. I have the best family and friends that anyone can ask for. And I am able to create the art I want to create. My life is full of joy and happiness and I am glad for all my blessings. I would like to let all my friends and collectors who are reading this know how much I appreciate them and just want to say thank you for everything as without your support none of this would have been possible.
