The Immigrant Heritage Week/ Semana de la Herencia del Inmigrante

New York City Celebrates


NY Book Fair was chosen to create this event for Immigrant Heritage Week 2010.

Opening event will be Thursday April 15, 2010 from 4 pm to 9 pm at the Queens Museum of Art. The event will be from Thursday April 15 through Sunday April 18, 2010 at the Queens Museum of Art.

Three Hispanic Artists were chosen to participate in this event and their paintings will be displayed at the Queens Museum of Art they are Jose Acosta, Marianne Sagbini and Hugo Sandoval. There will also be Poetry readings and lectures by Adriana Devers, Madelin Longoria and Laura Ovierto. There will be music and other entertainment related to the Mask and Dance celebration in culture.

Immigrant Heritage Week is a city-wide celebration that honors the experiences and contributions of immigrants in New York City. Established by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2004 and coordinated by the Mayor__™s Office of Immigrant Affairs, Immigrant Heritage Week is a rich collection of free or low-cost programs that build cross-cultural understanding between diverse New Yorkers.
