My Art is all about God my Family & Friends.
In the past few years I have had a great deal of success and I have to thank God, my family and friends for all of it. I am glad to have had the opportunities to have met many legends in the Art World. Some are no longer with us, but because of the impact that they have had on my life they will always be in my heart and I think of them often when creating my work. Peter Bloch, John Hultberg and Robert Graham are among my Heroes in the art world and I will never forget them. My parents did not own any paintings when I was growing up as we were more into family activities like going to the park every weekend and long vacations in Florida during the summer. Still I did go to the Metropolitan Museum of art during a class trip in grade school. I found everything fascinating and new. I love to explore and experiment with new things whenever I can. My studio is like a huge play room where I can create whatever I want. I look at the time I spend creating as energizing and joyful. I love getting paint all over the place and often complain to my wife that I have more paint on me than on the canvas that I am painting. What a joy and privilege it is to have the materials and time to create a little piece of paradise on a canvas. I often dream of paintings that I have yet to create and find it stimulating, exciting and challenging to try to recreate my dream world on canvas. I have so many more works that I need to create and I am glad to find the time to create them whenever possible. The sales of my paintings have allowed me to purchase more supplies and materials and also to create magnificent art openings with art, music and food for all to enjoy. Life is wonderful and I do thank God everyday for all of my blessings. My family and friends are healthy and I have a roof over my head, a great job, delicious food on the table and a few hours a day to create art. All the success would not be so special to me if I did not have my family and friends to share it with. To all the people in my life that support my efforts and enjoy my work, I would like to say Thank You! as you inspire me to keep on creating and make what I do that much more enjoyable. I will finish this story with a bit of advice. In life remember to follow your dreams, thank God for your blessings, and enjoy your family and friends. When I was young I found one saying that I take to heart, The person who says it can't be done is interrupted by the person who is doing it. Wishing everyone a bright future, Cuban American Artist Jose Acosta
