Congratulations to Art Basel Miami Beach. I would like to congratulate all Artists, Art Galleries, Collectors, and Art Enthusiasts who will attend or participate in Art Basel Miami Beach in December. I hope the Art Basel Miami Beach Fair and all the surrounding Fairs and Events will have a fantastic turn out. I am sad that I am unable to attend the event this year but I am glad to have many Artist Friends that will participate in the main event and the surrounding fairs. I enjoyed looking at all the art and meeting other Hispanic artists that were exhibiting at this event. I knew a few of the artists and others I was very glad to meet. Fantastic Week (Pictured to the right Jaime Andrade with Jose Acosta) Last week I had the most fantastic week. On Monday I started the week off with some extra cash from a few art sales from the past weekend. On Wednesday I had my opening at Berkeley College in Manhattan attended by many friends, family and fellow artists. My big surprise was when my famous artist friend Antonio Perez Melero invited Jaime Andrade a galley associate at Knoedler & Company to come and see my show and Jaime Andrade accepted the invite and attended. Jaime Andrade said some very nice things about my paintings and also about the custom made frames that I create for my art. Jose Acosta visits Boston Museum of Fine Arts On Saturday August 28, 2010 I had the great pleasure of visiting Massachusetts to deliver my painting "Hudson Valley Landscape" to its new owner. While in the area I decided to visit Boston as I had never been to Boston before. I visited the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and found the collection to be remarkable and most memorable. I enjoyed the Art section the most with Modern Art and the Impressionists paintings being my favorites. I enjoyed seeing paintings by Max Beckman, George Rouault, Matisse, Gauguin and other great artists that I admire. My favorite painting was "Ravine" by Van Gogh… Continue reading… 0 comments

Jose Acosta exhibits four of his paintings at the Queens Museum of Art. The Immigrant Heritage Week/ Semana de la Herencia del Inmigrante New York City Celebrates IMMIGRANT HERITAGE WEEK 2010 NY Book Fair was chosen to create this event for Immigrant Heritage Week 2010. Opening event was Thursday April 15 at the Queens Museum of Art and went through Sunday April 18, 2010. Three Hispanic Artists were chosen to participate in this event and their paintings were displayed at the Queens Museum of Art they were Jose Acosta, Marianne Sagbini and Hugo Sandoval. There was also Poetry readings and lectures by Adriana Devers, Madelin Longoria and Laura Ovierto. 20 Paintings by Cuban American Artist Jose Acosta sold to private collectors. On November 28, 2009 Cuban American Artist Jose Acosta completed the sale of 20 paintings from Jose Acosta Studio to private collectors. This agreement will allow Jose a monthly income for the next two years. The private collectors were very happy to be able to acquire this large body of paintings at a reasonable price with payment terms. They were also glad to add more paintings by Jose Acosta to their collection. Cuban American Artist Jose Acosta will be represented by Cubarte New York in NYC. Jose Acosta is a Cuban-American Artist. Born in San Jose Cuba 1966 currently lives in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with his family. Jose has made great strides in America. His works are in many Private and Public Collections. Jose creates paintings and sculpture. Most recently his works were added to the collection of The World Bank Art Program, United Cerebral Palsy, Healthy Families, Touro College and The University of Pennsylvania Art Collection. Who Will Fill Their Shoes? Last Sunday I had the honor of attending the Colegio Nacional de Periodistas de la Rep__blica de Cuba en el Exilio, Delegaci_³n New York - New Jersey Annual Banquet. My friend Arturo Alvarez sponsored me for membership in this great organization and I am very proud to be a member. I could not help but notice that my wife and I were the youngest couple in attendance. The rest of the members were older and some were my fathers age and older. I thought to myself who will continue on this great legacy that has created so many distinguished and legendary people. IF YOU WISH YOUR ART PURCHASE KEPT A SECRET DON "T TELL ANYONE ! Just recently I had to delete a post here on ArtId because the collectors that purchased my work wanted to keep the purchase a secret. It all started simple enough. Three of my paintings were purchased and I was told by the gallery owner that they were purchased by a new museum that was going to open in downtown NYC. Later I was given a museum name that I posted on my blog site because I thought the information was reliable and important. Jose Acosta receives Certificate of Appreciation from Union City On Saturday, November 7, 2009 the Cuban-American Artist Jose Acosta participated in The Union City Art & Book Expo. The event was held at Jos__ Marti Freshman Academy in Union City, New Jersey. This event was presented by Mayor Brian P. Stack and Board of Commissioners in conjunction with the New York Book Fair Expo and St. James Center. Amado Mora was the art curator and also presented the Certificates of Appreciation to the participants at the event. Art Show at Cuban-American Capital of the World. Union City New Jersey considered by many the Cuban-American Capital of the World was the host city to a grand event at QbaVa Gallery on Friday October 9, 2009 The local newspapers and area residents were most supportive of the event and the gallery was packed all night long. The guests enjoyed music by Juan Manuel Ortega and lots of wine and delicious food. Jose Acosta showed his contemporary Cuban American paintings including "Patriot" the painting had just returned from the Queens Museum of Art Show. Jose Acosta was one of 3 Artists chosen to participate in an exhibition COLORS hosted by NY Book Expo at the Queens Museum of Art on October 2nd and 3rd, 2009 Jose Acosta, Marianne Sagbinni and Hugo Sandoval exhibited at the Queens Museum of Art. The opening festival was quite grand with many guest and VIP s attending. NY Book Expo and the Queens Museum of Art did a great job setting up the exhibition. The guest enjoyed great food and wine, also live entertainment by Stephanie Garay and Nilko Andreas.
