Joe Ray Kelley is a painter using acrylic and water-soluble oil on canvas; creating a large diversity of subject matter. His paintings exude a profound understanding of the interplay of light and subject. The commanding use of color focuses and enhances the viewers' experience of mood and intimacy.
Joe Ray is a native of Missouri, USA. His work has been well accepted throughout the mid-west US and rewarded in many regional, national and international juried art shows and exhibitions. He accepted an invitation and personally exhibited his work at the 2003 Biennale Internazionalle Dell'Arte Contemporanea, Florence, Italy December 6-15, 2003. He has been invited to attend the 2007 Biennale Internazionalle Dell'Arte Contemporanea.
National and international artist societies have recognized and rewarded his talent with Signature Artist induction. These honors bestowed include the National Oil and Acrylic Painters__™ Society (NOAPS), International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP) and the National Society of Artists (NSA).
Joe Ray is a Board Member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters__™ Society (NOAPS) and serves as Chairperson for the Signature Artist Guild of (NOAPS). He has been a member of the Kansas City Artists Coalition for several years and is gallery represented by the Northland Exposure Artists__™ Gallery in Parkville, MO and Images Gallery in Kansas City.
