RE-EVOLUTION CUBAN ARTISTS SOMEWHERE NORTH

Yesterday April 12, 2012 I had the great honor of attending RE-EVOLUTION CUBAN ARTISTS SOMEWHERE NORTH at Chashama 655 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10017 (between 41 & 42nd Street) I enjoyed the art exhibition very much and was very impressed with the work of these 5 Cuban Artists who live in the United States and in Canada. Following is the list of the artists participating.

The exhibition has a wonderful mix of art from paintings in 3-D to constructions, photography and prints. This is a must see art exhibit for anyone in the New York area who enjoys art. Will be on view from April 13th to the 27th (Mon-Sun 11 - 6pm)

Amazing feed. Basquat is my favorite artist. I went to go see his exibit at MOCA in Los Angeles. I haven’t been the same every since I went. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Hello Jesus Rivera, when I was younger such as like a few weeks ago I did not really appreciate art. I saw it as a lazy work that had some weird meaning that only the artist knew about. Now seeing the amount of work and confidence needed to draw is amazing. Your piece here is great. The thing I respect the most is when people use their art to bring something out into the open, raise awareness of it, and attempt to change it. There are so many things left and right that needs to be fixed and all it takes is people to attempt to fix it.
I did not even know that there was a problem in Cuba concerning artists. And with your work, it really does make a difference spreading the word because more pressure and criticism will hopefully help Cuba to change and also help people change their views about artists.
I also want to thank you for standing up to the censorship and trying to help those struggling people not just those in Cuba but other places as well in supporting their practices. It's not easy for those artists striving for acceptance all on their own, but when they have people like you guys that are willing to fight for them it gives strength for all the rest of the people. Thanks for fighting, and I support all you artists working for fun or endeavoring for a cause, strive on and I hope your goals become fulfilled.
