To the Right "Strength In Numbers" painting by Jose Acosta
From Mariano Rodriguez setting a record for that artist at $ 1,087,000 at Christies down the line Carmen Herrera $970,000 Carlos Enriquez $ 967,500 Wilfredo Lam $785,000 Amelia Pelaez $213,000 Roberto Fabelo $125,000 Ana Mandieta $120,000 Manuel Medive 69,000
Wonderful news for Cuban Artists as three artists on that list Carmen Herrera, Roberto Fabelo & Manuel Medive are still alive and creating wonderful works. Not good news for Art Collectors who will have to pay higher price to complete or add to their collections. With Changes coming to Cuba everyday price will continue to rise as more people throughout the world are made aware of the Fantastic works created by Cuban artists both young and old, living on and off the island and hopefully more Museums here in the United States of America and throughout the world will start exhibiting more works by Cuban Artists in the future.
Congratulations to All Cuban artists throughout the world who had good sales in 2016 and I look forward to more impressive numbers and sales in 2017 and the Future. Jose Acosta Cuban American Artist.
