La Orquesta de Los Taino will perform at Jose Acosta Event!
This Saturday May 5, 2012 at the Arts Society of Kingston New York, 97 Broadway from 5 to 8 pm La Orquesta de Los Taino will be performing their music for all guests to enjoy at the Cuban American Art Exhibition by Jose Acosta. La Orquesta de Los Taino is one of the most famous Latin music bands in all the Hudson Valley and once you hear their music you will know why.

Jose Acosta's 2007 solo art exhibit at the Arts Society of Kingston broke all attendance records with over 400 guests attending that event…

El Dia de Ojo
Enjoy a cultural cocktail this season, one with very strong spirits mixed in paint and poured over canvas. The El Dia de Ojo series from artist sam.kirk experiments with the concept of two Latin American traditions. The skeletons of El Dia de los Muertos combined with the superstition of Mal de Ojo (the evil eye).
Raised in a multicultural household, Sam Kirk was never immersed in just one ethnic tradition. Through oral histories passed down by generations of friends and family members she became fascinated by Mexican traditions and superstitions. The artist's education about her cultures led to their celebration, which manifests itself in her El Dia De Ojo series…
