Hispanic Art Market Report Summer 2011
The art news is great in 2011 if you are the estate of any of the super famous Latin American artists who are breaking price records this year. Still I see lots of room for improvement and I look forward to even higher prices on select quality work by these and other artists that become available. As per the living artists the super stars are back on their way to the top with better auction prices and more demand for their quality work. Some have had very successful exhibitions both here in America and abroad. The rest of the Hispanic art market will soon benefit from the higher price that Latin American art is bringing at auction and I see a bright future ahead…

Hispanic Artists & Arts Organizations in Brooklyn, New York are encouraged to apply for arts grant by the Brooklyn Arts Council.
The Brooklyn Arts Council, who's mission is to support and connect Brooklyn's arts scene. As part of that mission, every year, the BAC Community Arts Grant Program funds Brooklyn-based nonprofit organizations and artists in the areas of visual arts, film and video, photography, traditional arts, folk arts, dance, music, theater, literature/writing, and multidisciplinary arts. The grants are from $1000 to $2000 and will provide much needed support to artists and small organizations bringing arts and culture to Brooklyn's neighborhoods…

World Famous Dominican Artist Ada Balcacer Lecture at CUNY
On May 17, 2011 CUNY Dominican Studies Institute, I had the honor of attending a lecture by World Famous Dominican Artist Ada Balcacer. She was speaking on contributions of Dominican Artists in New York to National Development in the Dominican Republic.

Ada Balcacer, one of the most prominent Dominican artists and gallerists educated in the Dominican Republic's Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes as well as the Arts Students League of New York, Parsons, etc.. Master Balcacer came to prominence in the 1960s as part of the "Arte y Liberaci_n" (Art and Liberation) cultural movement connected to revolutionary movements of the period…
