Elaine Griffith About
Biography
After graduating in 1972 from the School of the Worcester Art Museum (in Worcester MA) with the Washburn award for General Excellence,I immediately moved with my new husband to his rural Indiana hometown, Clay City. I was greatly influenced by the wide open skies of the riverbottom farming community we lived in and grew to love painting landscapes. I participated in many exhibits and shows as time allowed as I raised a family and did various illustration and freelance work .
I currently live in Oakham, a small rural town in central Massachusetts and split my time between my art business and my herbal health consultation and education business. I enjoy painting in my studio as well as doing illustration work. I also developed a special method for teaching acrylic painting and I work with students at nursing homes, chronic care facilitys, senior citizen centers and childrens camps. It is a method that breaks the process down into as many small steps as needed to help anyone be able to do a painting. I have worked with students from 5 to 100 years old and of all abilities and disabilities including quadrapelegics. I believe ART IS FOR EVERYONE !
