we had quite a weekend in punta gorda. we were lucky enough to be included in the adopt an artist program and we stayed overnight on friday and saturday at the very lovely home of kathleen d. of punta gorda...we can't thank her enough for her kindness...thanks also to show promoter richard sullivan for putting the program together. the peace river national art fair was a tale of two completely different days...weatherwise. while saturday was sunny and mild with great attendance...the pic is of peggy demonstrating on saturday and attracting quite a large group of interested patrons... sunday was almost a washout...or should I say wind out? a cold front blew through early on sunday morning...with only about 20 minutes of light rain...but after that the winds picked up and the temps fell all day long. some artists packed up and headed out early but most remained and tried to make the best of a tough day. thanks to the many hardy folks of punta gorda who made the effort to come out to the art fair on a chilly sunday...(we had a bigger crowd on sunday than we thought was possible). thanks also to mr and mrs vickers from kansas city, mo. who stopped by and purchased a large original watercolor on sunday afternoon just before heading out of florida for home...and their b&b business.

this weekend we head north to leesburg, fl for their fine art fair. our booth number is 003 which is in the zero block located near the corner of main and palmetto streets. its our first time attending this event and the weekend forecast looks to be sunny and warm with no mention of any approaching cold fronts. lets hope that holds and that many folks come out to enjoy historic downtown leesburg.
