Peggy Engsberg Furlin Art Blog
it was quite a weekend in cocoa beach at the 45th annual space coast art fair last weekend. saturday was a beautiful day...and a lot of people came out to enjoy the atmosphere in downtown cocoa beach. peggy was happy to have two of her art works selected for judging...which is pretty impressive in an art fair of this quality. and we must thank the leader family from cleveland, ohio for their support as they purchased an original watercolor from us on saturday...and we hope they had no problems getting it back home to ohio. sunday turned out to be a windy day with a pretty good chance of afternoon showers...not good, cause we were hoping to see the space shuttle make a landing at nearby cape kennedy. alas sunday was both good and bad. the good was that peggy won a second place award in the watercolor division which is always a great thrill and helped (alot) to make our weekend a success. the pic is of peggy doing some painting at the show and you can see the ribbon and the prize winning painting in the background...(sorry about the poor quality picture) the not so great part of sunday was that after some off and on sprinkles early on...the show organizers decided at around 2pm to close the show for the safety of the patrons and artists...as a cold front was fast approaching the space coast...and naturally...the shuttle was diverted to a landing in california. darn it! our next official show is the winterfest art fair in holmes beach on anna maria island and it will be on the weekend of december 13 and 14. hope to see some of you at the show. also...check back here later this week...we may take part in a one day show this coming saturday at either pass-a-grille or downtown sarasota...and we'll have more info in the next few days. thanks for reading.
