www.earthwoodandfiretour.com this is the weekend for our open studio tour here in Jefferson county, wi. twenty some artists will open their studios on Saturday and sunday...many will be demonstrating...and all of us will be welcoming one and all to come out and enjoy the art and a drive in the country on a beautiful autumn weekend. this weekend for the downtown "lake mills art fair". it takes place downtown in commons park on saturday july 16th from 9am-4pm. we have booth #22 on the corner of madison and main street...right across from the brand new "lewis station winery". its a big weekend in lake mills...we hope you can come out and enjoy it with us. we must thank richard and winnie from madison who...last weekend at the art fair off the square...purchased peggy's featured painting from last weeks blog. here is a pic of that piece hanging in the entryway of their home... thanks for reading..… Continue reading… 0 comments

its time for the annual artist studio tour through jefferson county, wisconsin. it takes place this coming weekend...october 23 & 24 from 10am to 5pm...and its a chance to visit with twenty artists and see where they work and enjoy the autumn colors as you travel the back roads of wisconsin. the weather here this autumn has been tremendous and the forecast for the upcoming weekend promises more of the same...so it should be ideal for anyone who wants to make the drive. there is a great website with all of the info you will need including a list of participating artists and locations...event hours...and maps and directions...and here is a link... www.earthwoodandfiretour.com this year peggy will be located at the sweet lips gallery located in downtown lake mills..… Continue reading… 0 comments

will be taking place this weekend in brookfield, wi on the grounds of the sharon lynn wilson art center...which is located off of west capitol drive. its our first time in this show and we look forward to it. its a three day event that starts on friday at 1pm. peggy will be giving a demonstration of watercolor on canvas technique on saturday afternoon at the demonstration stage. there will be no weather worries this weekend as this show takes place under large tents set up on the lawn of the art center. its our last milwaukee area show of the season...we hope to see you there. thanks for reading..… Continue reading… 0 comments

we are at the oak brook invitational art fair this weekend...held at the beautiful oak brook center mall. we have booth number 99...near the sears entrance. the heat and humidity are gone and its going to be a sunny and cool and "dry" weekend...we hope to see you there. show hours are saturday 10-7pm and sunday 11-6pm. peggy has a new watercolor on canvas workshop planned for this fall. it will be a one day event held at the new "lake mills arts center". the date is october 16th and the hours will be 10-4. please contact us for more info or to reserve your spot. thanks for reading...have a great weekend..… Continue reading… 0 comments

this is our weekend at home...as the lake mills art festival takes place in downtown lake mills approx 1/2 block away from our home/studio. we host guy and kathy schmitz and bonnie and ron elvidge...friends who are in town to display at the art fair as well...we always have fun when these folks are in town...and look forward to their visit. this one day art fair takes place on saturday in commons park and the weather forecast is for sunny skies and warm temps...but the showsite in the park is very well shaded by mature trees...so it should be quite comfortable for all. attached is a painting of the "legion hamburger stand" a local landmark in downtown lake mills where they sell very popular burgers every friday thru the summer months… Continue reading… 1 comment

we have a saturday art fair in downtown mokena, il. its going to be a citywide festival with not only the art fair...but several other events taking place all day long. its our first time to mokena...we hope to see a big crowd out to enjoy the first weekend in october. we follow it up on sunday back home in lake mills for the downtown fall festival in commons park. we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed for decent autumn weather for these two events. hope to see you at one or the other...or both! our show in kansas city at the zona rosa village was well attended and a great venue for an art fair...we want to send out a big thank you to rudy and pat p from kansas city who commissioned a large painting to go over the mantle in their beautiful home… Continue reading… 0 comments

the 30th anniversary "off the square" art fair in madison this past weekend was blessed with ideal weather and as a result an excellent turnout. we were happy to welcome two new peg-heads into the club...matt from madison and signe from verona both took home large pieces and we thank them and all the folks who came downtown for the art fairs. we realize that it can be a bit of an ordeal sometime what with finding and paying for parking and then a hike to the art fair and then walking around the crowded fair itself...so we really appreciate the effort folks put out in order to attend these events. this weekend we will really be "home" for an art fair as the lake mills art fair on saturday will take place approx 1/2 block from our front door here in LM… Continue reading… 0 comments

at the lake mills art fair... all week the weekend forecast called for rain and t'storms...they were talking heavy rain...friday...friday night and saturday...and saturday night. well...other than a little drizzle and light rain on saturday between 7am and 9am...we escaped with partly cloudy skies and warm temps...a pretty great day for an art fair. wow...the weathermen were wrong...go figure! here is a big thank you to everyone who came out and supported the 3rd annual Lake Mills Fine Art Show and to all the volunteers who worked hard all day making it as good as it could be. after the art fair ended...we co-hosted (along with friends bonnie and ron elvidge) a house concert at our place in downtown lake mills. it featured a great band out of madison, wi...called "the getaway drivers".… Continue reading… 0 comments

first up...a picture from the "off the square" show with the capitol building in the background. it really is a beautiful setting for an art fair...and it turned out to be a nice weather weekend as well. big crowds came out and walked the two art fairs. it was the 50th anniversary for the "on the square" show...while next year will be the 30th anniversary for the "off the square" show. this coming weekend is the 3rd annual Lake Mills Art Fair here in our little hometown...we will have approx 47 quality artists in "commons park" downtown. the show will start at 10am and go to 4pm. there will be free music and good eats and a kids art tent as well. it will be a lot less hectic than the big art fairs like last week...but no less fun… Continue reading… 0 comments

peggy has been hard a work getting ready for the "off the square" show. here is a new triptych that we will have on display this weekend in downtown madison, wi. each piece is 18_36 inches so the entire triptych will cover an area of approx 3'x5'. we will have a number of newly finished paintings on display...we hope you can make it out to the show. we are in space number 68...which is located on MLK Jr Blvd...between doty and wilson streets. the show runs from 9-6 on saturday and then 10-5 on sunday. also FYI... next wednesday...july 16th is christmas in july in beautiful downtown lake mills...along with the weekly farmers market many of the downtown shops will be featuring sidewalk sales...even santa will be paying a visit...and there will be a band concert at 7pm… Continue reading… 0 comments
