Earl Mott About
After graduating from high school and a stint in the Navy, Earl Mott completed a course of study in illustration and related art from Art Instruction Schools. He first studied oil painting with Virginia Blackmon in Texas, and later, with Foster Caddell at the North Light Art School in Connecticut, as well as privately with Mr. Caddell.
Mr. Mott is a member of Oil Painters of America and is listed in Marquis Who's Who in America. He has been associated with the Texas Fine Arts Association and the American Artists Professional League (AAPL). He was accepted to show in the 1987 AAPL Grand National Exhibition and was a winner in the 1997 North Light National Portrait Competition.
Several of Mr. Mott's paintings have been reproduced on brochure covers and prints by the University of Texas School of Law. His work has also been featured in North Light Magazine and the American Artist Book Club. He is the author of an art instruction book, entitled Secrets From an Oil Painting Diary, published in hardcover in 1988 by Watson-Guptill Publishers of New York and was a contributor to a book entitled The Best of Portrait Painting, published in 1998 by North Light Publishers.
