Donna Dubreuil Favreau About
I started painting as a child, doing every "paint by numbers" kit there was. I got addicted to the smell of oil paint and linseed oil! As a Registered Radiologic Technologist, I dealt with black, white and many shades of grey. I had to rediscover color thru Adult Ed classes. I took classes and workshops with many talented local Connecticut artist, Terry Oakes Bourett, Bob Norieka, Chris Piantek,Lou Bonomarte, Doe Bartlett, Ellie Bender, John Bickford and studied on my own. I was lucky enough to win numerous awards for my oil paintings from local art associations. I taught oil painting classes for 12 years to some wonderful, very talented Senior Citizens who went on to win awards of their own. I have two studios..one in Longmeadow, MA and one in Westbrook, CT on the Connecticut Shore. I am a member of The Art Guild of Middletown, CT, Arts & Crafts Association Gallery 53 of Meriden, CT and an newly elected member of the Clinton Art Society, Clinton,CT, an Associate member of the Madison Art Society, Madison, CT and now a member of the Maple and Main Gallery in Chester, CT.
I work in oils, soft pastels, watercolors, oil monotypes, enjoy candid protraits and house portraits. None of the other mediums smell quite right to me....oils are my passion. (But now I'm winning awards in Pastels!)
2008 I won a "Best in Show" at Wesleyan University's Zhilkha Gallery Art Guild of Middletown for "Striped Chairs" pastel and the Silvio Award for Gallery 53, ACA of Meriden. This painting also won several other awards in different CT art shows." Taormina Cyclists"

I have moved to Westbrook, CT this April, just 550 steps from the beach and about 40 from the Menunketesuck River and Pilot's Point!! It doesn't get much better than this!!
Oh yes it does! I am now a member of a fabulous art gallery in the quaint artsy town of Chester, CT!!! THE MAPLE & MAIN GALLERY of fine arts! It is a co-op gallery with 6 changing shows a year and lots of other opportunities to show and teach. The gallery is full of history and lots of wonderful art and artists!!! I am very excited!
