  • I have always felt like Sedona was my spiritual home. Kind of my haven when I need a place locally to get away~ From the vortexs there, to the "Chapel of the Holy Cross", to "Cathedral Rock"; Red Rock Country is certainly filled with a lot of grace and a lot of blessings as well~

  • When I saw this Coral tree in Hawaii at Kona,I decided that it was special because at the same time that I looked up, a rainbow came into view right alongside the tree. I wrote a Haiku verse to go with this photo, that will come individually, with the signed and matted print~ The Haiku refers to the tree and life~!

"Mother and child"
  • "Mother and child"
  • Color Photography | 8" x 10"
  • When my mother came to live with me in Arizona, from Calif. and was ill, I went to a local church called "Our Lady of Lourdes". There I found a beautiful statue of a "Mother and Child". In fact, the statue kind of looked like Mother Teresa, just holding a child tenderly in her arms. It really moved me, and I had to take this picture~ This one's for you Mom!

"White Dove"
  • "White Dove"
  • Color Photography | 5" x 7"
  • The "White Dove" signifies a lot of things to me. My mother has always loved Doves; White Doves, Mourning Doves, it didn't matter, she just loved Doves. As we all know a Dove stands for Peace. It is and has been an important part of my life~ Ironically, I have come across many white Doves and Mourning Doves in interesting places. As you will see from my picture called " At Birth" in the "small works" gallery, I seem to have doves all around me. I watched the birth of one in that photo right on my back patio. Then I took a trip to Sedona, where I found this lovely Mosaic of a White Dove. Also my cousin in Calif. e-mailed me under her unusual moniker which was "White Dove". I have another White Dove photo that I will put up in my "Spiritual" gallery soon. It was taken at the chapel of the hospital where my mother passed. Again, ironically this symbol of peace still surrounds me~ It makes me believe!!

"Mom
  • "Mom
  • Color Photography | 8" x 10" x 1"
  • Monday 09/27/10 was the 4 year Anniversary of my Mother Anita's passing.I remember it just like it was yesterday. I do not think that anyone can ever loose a Mother without it affecting them, one way or another~ My mother and I were very very close and when she left this world, I also lost a very BIG part of me. Mom loved Doves and before she passed, she told me that she was ready to fly off and be at peace. Of course what she was really saying was that it was OK to let her go. My mother was well read and loved to read the Bible. Here is our verse that we read together on many occasions~. So I said "Oh that I had wings like a Dove;I would fly away and be at rest" Psalm: 55:6~ This verse while simple, fit my mother so very well. She was unassuming but always present in the moment. This was also her way of telling me that we would meet again; and we have. Everywhere I go, I come across White Doves, like this one that is so prominently present in the Chapel of the hospital where she passed on. I have also witnessed the birth of a baby Dove right on my back yard patio which you can see by going to the "small works" gallery on ArtId~

Hallelujah
  • Hallelujah
  • Color Photography | 8" x 10" x 1"
  • This picture automatically says "Hallelujah" to me. It was taken by me at my home in Arizona. I have three small stained glass windows off of my dining room area, and since coming together with friends and family for a nice home-cooked meal is a very important part of my life;( I love to cook),I decided to add the windows to the room for a nice atmosphere, or environment. Each time I serve a meal in this room,I feel the "Joy" that comes with the word "Hallelujah" and the contentment that comes from sharing the meal with my friends~

Mom's White Windmill Doves~
  • Mom's White Windmill Doves~
  • Color Photography | 5" x 7"
  • Ironically, I just had to take an emergency trip to California, and was passing through Palm Springs only to be reminded once again of "White Doves". Mom and I used to take these trips quite often, and she always remarked about the white windmills. You could see them from a distance as you approached, and from afar, she said that they reminded her of White Doves, speading their wings and taking flight! As I have mentioned in so many of my other works on artid, White Doves seem to follow me everywhere. Here they are once more;their movement as graceful as ever~

  • Color Photography | 8" x 10" x 1"
  • In Santa Monica, Calif. there is a cemetery named Woodlawn. That is where my mother, father, grandparents and most of my family is. It is a beautiful place to pay tribute to those who have gone before us.They have a Masoleum with stained Glass windows, and I just happen to notice on this past trip there, that the main window seems to be bearing a Cross~ The window panes may look the same to anyone just passing by, but as you get closer, you will see my interpretation of the cross~

Wolfs Robe Plays the Flute
  • Wolfs Robe Plays the Flute
  • Color Photography | 8" x 10" x 1"
  • Today, I had the good fortune of meeting a true artist of the flute, and an educator who shared a wealth of information with me. His name is Wolfs Robe and he is a Native American Indian, of the Cherokee Nation; from Oklahoma~ Wolfs Robe can touch you spiritually more in one song than by spending a whole afternoon in church. His music is original and beautifully spiritual; soothing and healing. You may read more about him in my Blog called Wolfs Robe at ArtId's artists blogs~
