Deb Ward Art Blog

My first blog entry!

by debward , December 9, 2007—06:36 PM

Topics: acrylic, painting, watercolor

My name is Deb Ward and I'm new to ArtId as well as to this blogging thing, but curious to see what comes of it! I've been painting for about 12 years in watercolor and in the past year have also begun using both fluid acrylics and casein. It's fun to decide which medium will look best for each picture.

I live in Dearborn County, in the southeastern corner of Indiana, close to Cincinnati, OH, and have been teaching watercolor for the past 3 years. If you are in this area, let me know - it's always fun to hear from other artists. A bit more info about me - I'm a member of the Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society which meets monthly at the Cincinnati Art Club, and was the Program Director for them the past 3 years. Just when I thought it was safe (!) they asked me to take on the task of organzing the annual spring show, so you could say I'm an active member there. I'm also a member of the Cincinnati Art Club and my work is shown at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center in Cincinnati. I've also got 2 series of classes (tentatively) scheduled for this spring at Kennedy Heights and at the Dunham Recreation Center on the West Side of Cincinnati.

Well, if anyone actually reads this - give me a holler!

Hi Deb,
I saw your art in the recent North Light promotion for AcrylicWorks 2: Radical Breakthroughs. I could not imagine that you used Yupo. I am glad to see your comment above about Yupo. I find it very difficult.
To the point, I tried to access your website and got nothing. No error, just a blank page. I could draw up your blog, but again the link to your website gave the same curious results.

Please advise me as to when your site is up. I so look forward to see what you can do on watercolor paper.

Congratulations on your first blog. I'm pretty new to it myself, but find it a great place to put down some of those thoughts that go along with being an artist. Look forward to more. Enjoy

HI Deb,
Love your work so much--beautiful! I am glad you have joined the artid. I have only been on artid for a few months. I like to look at other artists work and then leave a message to encourage them. I live in jackson, Mi. I have taught art for a few years but now I am retired. Hope to hear from you. Millie
