David Wilcoxen About
I became very fascinated with wildlife, particularly big cats, after going on several safaris in Kenya, and getting to pet a full grown cheetah in South Africa. For these reasons I especially love to illustrate them. I currently support and do art work on denim jackets for the Cheetah Conservation Fund - www.cheetah.org
I went to high school in Charlottesville, VA. Shortly after graduating I joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Pensacola, FL and in the San Francisco, CA bay area.
I have always liked to draw and paint, so after I got out of the Navy I went on to pursue my dream of becoming a commercial artist. I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I received an Associates Degree in Advertising Art at The Art Center Design College.
It is there that I first started using an airbrush and loved the effects one could get with it. I use Iwata Eclipse airbrushes and Createx airbrush paint.
