Rancher's Daughter
She was rancher's daughter, everyone liked her, when she was younger. They had always lived on the lake, but tourists were beginning to linger like monotonous speeches. The piers were now dressed as cluttered carnival grounds. I can't remember when he first arrived, he always wore that same panama hat. She thought he had hung the moon, for all we knew - he had. Everything blurred together, the house now overgrown with bush and tree, barely recognizable among all the ominous structures. Things had changed, last we heard they were living somewhere in Brazil, we moved to Houston.
