C.J. Greene About

I've been a tile setter for over 12 years, about 4 years ago I started to create custom mosiac pictures out of scrap tile from misc. jobs, it has been a learning process and I have come a long way since my first pic. Add Comment

Each picture is first hand drawn on underlayment board. I then crush/cut various varieties and colors of tile depending on what is needed (using mostly Granite, Marble, Travertine and Slate. Natural stone seems to look/work best). Each picture is then hand set with silicone and framed with tile (most pictures being about 1ft x 18-20 inches) Next it is grouted (numerous colors available) and allowed to cure 3 days. I then glaze the entire project with a preservative coating, (most commonly used on bar tops) at least 1/8 inch thick. The glaze takes another 3 days to fully cure, the final result being a high gloss, glass finish. Each picture takes a lot of labor, thought and around a week of dry time to complete. They look great over the fireplace or on that bare wall. I encourage custom requests but invite you to browse completed works. These works of art are made to be durable and with the proper care will last for years to come. Each project is one of a kind and made with patience and pride___ in the final product, it shows.
