Charlaine Siefert About
I started out drawing and painting horses. I would hike to a friend's, or to the riding stables, just to be able to sketch on-site.
Then I joined the US Women's Army Corps during the Vietnam War Era, and started moving around. I began doing more sketches of people and painting landscapes in oil. That lead to my first painting on commission (a prize Appaloosa mare).
I moved around the United States, to Germany, and then to Alaska. I taught in several isolated areas, including Adak in the Aleutians,Galena on the Yukon, Prince of Wales, and Kodiak. I taught students and community members art history, painting from dreams, and watercolor painting.
I retired from teaching in Alaska, and am now painting on-site and from photos captured during my adventures which include driving the ALCAN twelve times with my favorite four-legged friend.
