Topics: art events, pastel, shows, the artist's life

I've been too busy with the nuts and bolts of being an artist--now is that a weird metaphor?--to blog or put of new art for a while. Tomorrow and Sunday I'm one stop on on Open Studios tour, and meant painting up a storm, getting the studio and the house leading into the studio into good shape. With the common rooms of the house it is not just a matter of cleaning, one necessity is taking down art by other artists. One does not want to confuse visitors who are potential shoppers. I've made a slide show of art on my laptop for an added item of interest, while I will have my desktop computer connected to ArtId and maybe pick up some regular visitors to my ArtId site.

If you read my blog regularly, you may recognize that I have finally created a painting of that surfer whose photo I showed earlier as a potential acrylic painting. However, it happened that the more I looked at it, and recalled the moment I took the photo, the more I saw it an a pastel.

In my next blog, I'll let you know how the weekend went and what worked or did not work in this year's open studio experience. This evening the participating artists are going to do a whirlwind tour of one another's studios.
