Riverwinds gallery at 172 Main Street in Beacon is delighted to welcome Jose Acosta to our gallery in Beacon. His paintings of bright colors, swirling figures, and vibrant energy warm your heart and put a smile on your face. The opening reception for the show is February 13, 2010, (2nd Saturday) 5 - 8 pm. The show will run through March 7, 2010. Born in Cuba, he immigrated to the U.S. with his family when he was 3 years old. He is a Cuban/American and very proud of his Cuban Heritage as well as his American citizenship. His paintings depict his personal history and surroundings. Avalon Archives Museum of Roots and Rock and Roll will be exhibiting the painting "Bourbon Street" by Cuban-American Artist Jose Acosta. Ned Moran the owner of the Museum chose to exhibit this painting in the Museum because of the importance of Bourbon Street to the music world. Jose Acosta was delighted to have his work exhibited along with this magnificent collection of music memorabilia. Jose Acosta receives Honorary Diploma from Touro College

On May 15th, 2009 Touro College Sunset branch in Brooklyn acquired the painting "Art Gallery" by Cuban American Artist Jose Acosta. The painting will be displayed at the Touro College Sunset branch, as this is the branch with the largest population of Hispanic students. Jose Acosta was also awarded an Honorary Diploma by Touro College on this day. Jose Acosta is a Cuban-American Artist. I just wanted to let everyone know that my art work "Staying Alive" has been acquired by the University of Pennsylvania Art Collection and will be displayed on campus. I am very happy of the Acquisition as it has been several months of hope and lots of prayer for this to happen.I am very happy that my work will be in this great Art Collection.
