20 Paintings by Cuban American Artist Jose Acosta sold to private collectors.
On November 28, 2009 Cuban American Artist Jose Acosta completed the sale of 20 paintings from Jose Acosta Studio to private collectors. This agreement will allow Jose a monthly income for the next two years. The private collectors were very happy to be able to acquire this large body of paintings at a reasonable price with payment terms. They were also glad to add more paintings by Jose Acosta to their collection. The paintings will be exhibited at the collectors homes in New York, Florida and Puerto Rico…

Jose Acosta is a Cuban-American Artist. Born in San Jose Cuba 1966 currently lives in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with his family. Jose has made great strides in America. His works are in many Private and Public Collections. Jose creates paintings and sculpture. Most recently his works were added to the collection of The World Bank Art Program, United Cerebral Palsy, Healthy Families, Touro College and The University of Pennsylvania Art Collection. Jose is included in "Antologia de Pintores Hispano-Americanos" and an image of his painting "Celebration" will be on the cover of that book.

Who Will Fill Their Shoes?
Last Sunday I had the honor of attending the Colegio Nacional de Periodistas de la Rep_blica de Cuba en el Exilio, Delegaci_n New York - New Jersey Annual Banquet. My friend Arturo Alvarez sponsored me for membership in this great organization and I am very proud to be a member. I could not help but notice that my wife and I were the youngest couple in attendance. The rest of the members were older and some were my fathers age and older. I thought to myself who will continue on this great legacy that has created so many distinguished and legendary people. That question I have often asked of myself at other times and events as my fathers Odd Fellows lodge reunions, and other award celebrations I attend throughout the year…

IF YOU WISH YOUR ART PURCHASE KEPT A SECRET DON "T TELL ANYONE !
Just recently I had to delete a post here on ArtId because the collectors that purchased my work wanted to keep the purchase a secret. It all started simple enough. Three of my paintings were purchased and I was told by the gallery owner that they were purchased by a new museum that was going to open in downtown NYC. Later I was given a museum name that I posted on my blog site because I thought the information was reliable and important. Soon after that I received a phone call telling me it was not purchased by the museum but by the owners of the museum and I was given their names…

Avalon Archives Museum of Roots and Rock and Roll will be exhibiting the painting "Bourbon Street" by Cuban-American Artist Jose Acosta. Ned Moran the owner of the Museum chose to exhibit this painting in the Museum because of the importance of Bourbon Street to the music world.

Jose Acosta receives Certificate of Appreciation from Union City
On Saturday, November 7, 2009 the Cuban-American Artist Jose Acosta participated in The Union City Art & Book Expo. The event was held at José Marti Freshman Academy in Union City, New Jersey.
This event was presented by Mayor Brian P. Stack and Board of Commissioners in conjunction with the New York Book Fair Expo and St. James Center. Amado Mora was the art curator and also presented the Certificates of Appreciation to the participants at the event.
This event was fantastic with exhibition of paintings from the Colors exhibit that was recently at the Queens Museum of Art. 10 Artists from abroad as well as 46 local Artists and 1 Sculptor participated in this event…

Art Show at Cuban-American Capital of the World.
Union City New Jersey considered by many the Cuban-American Capital of the World was the host city to a grand event at QbaVa Gallery on Friday October 9, 2009 The local newspapers and area residents were most supportive of the event and the gallery was packed all night long. The guests enjoyed music by Juan Manuel Ortega and lots of wine and delicious food.
Jose Acosta showed his contemporary Cuban American paintings including "Patriot" the painting had just returned from the Queens Museum of Art Show. Both El Especialito and Personalidades Newspapers ran nice articles on Jose Acosta including an interview written by the famous art critic Jorge Mora…

Jose Acosta, Marianne Sagbinni and Hugo Sandoval exhibited at the Queens Museum of Art. The opening festival was quite grand with many guest and VIP s attending. NY Book Expo and the Queens Museum of Art did a great job setting up the exhibition. The guest enjoyed great food and wine, also live entertainment by Stephanie Garay and Nilko Andreas.
Amir Parsa was the Keynote Speaker who gave a wonderful speech and story that ended with "I do not speak English" and Jacqueline Donado the founder of NY Book Fair Expo created a wonderful event enjoyed by all who participated and attended the event…

Last night on September 22, 2009 I had the honor of joining my friend the famous artist from Spain Antonio Perez Melero at the Banquete del Mill_n at the Terrace on the Park in Flushing, NY. The Event was spectacular with great Food, Music and Special Guest from all over the World.
