Jose Acosta - Biography
I create paintings characterized by their bright colors, swirling figures, and vibrant energy. I think my background and conditioning are the ingredients. I was born in Cuba where I lived until the age of three, then, with my family, immigrated to the United States. Therefore, my paintings generally depict and reflect my history as well as my surroundings and experiences while expressing passion from the heart, the mainspring of life.

Artist Statement
I create Paintings, Sculptures, and Constructions. Bright colors, swirling figures, and vibrant energy characterize my paintings. I was born in Cuba and immigrated to the U.S. with my family when I was 3 years old. I am a Cuban/American and very proud of my Cuban Heritage as well as my American citizenship. Generally my paintings depict my personal history and my surroundings. I paint from my heart, expressing a little hope and happiness in all of my creations. I paint the struggles of my fellow humans to strive for their dreams, the things that some of us take so lightly yet so many in this world do not have. I am a romantic at heart and envision a future world where we will all live in peace and plenty.
